In the first two weeks with baby, I realised that there are many things that need to change.
1. SLEEP
On Day 5, my milk supply kicked in and my breasts were engorged very quickly during the day. I desperately had to pump out regularly to avoid the pains that people describe. This also resulted in me waking up at 4am to pump out the milk too! *gasps* There goes my sleep!
On subsequent mornings, the confinement lady had also had to wake me up at 5-6am for me to feed her. So, in essence, I had about 5 hours of sleep and another 2 hours before I get up entirely for the day. It was certainly hard to wake up at 5am for feeding cos I can't see clearly, my eyes stink, my breath stink and I am sleepy.
But, all is not lost, I take naps in the afternoon too!
2. EATING
Unfortunately, baby's feeding time clashes with my mealtime ): So I'm forced to eat faster nowadays. CL don't let me feed baby till I have finished eating (cos I'm only left with a few mouthfuls) and in this way, she is training me to eat faster. But, boy, it certainly is hard and stressful to eat faster.
So, these are the main 2 items that I need to change and it's really my needs versus her needs. It's so easy to ignore but just can't.
