On 2 Jan 2019, you started kindergarten at True Way Presbyterian Church! The first three days were orientation so I stayed with you on the first two days while dad took the last day. But when we had to drop you off on the following Monday and couldn't go in with you, oh boy! You were crying much! Had to be given Bunny as a comfort toy to tide you through the day. Fang Lao Shi also said that on the first day, you were non-participative. You didn't want to play with the toys nor eat much of the tea snacks that I've prepared for you. Sooooo sad. I called the teacher at the end of the first day as I was so concerned for you. And I even asked popo to pick me up so that we can go together to pick you up. You were crying at dismissal and wanted to be carried to the car! Ah-Tai also came along. Haha. I was thinking if I should withdraw you from school!
Dad was always the one dropping you off at school and by the end of the week, he said you were coping better. By the following week, you seemed to be coping much better and participating in class. Now at Week 8 of school, you can do the actions of many songs, both English & Chinese. And your favourite song is "My God is Number One". It seems to be everyone's favourite too! And your favourite Chinese song is "牧羊人" and you always laugh at the "Hallelujah" at the Chinese Daniel in Lion's Den song. You always finish the food I prepared for you in your snack box. Fang Lao Shi said you like the playground and learning center. That's great! Looks like you are adapting well!
From 18 Feb onwards, I brought you to school and we would always wash your hands before I say a short prayer with you and then you carry your school bag to enter school. After scanning for temperature, you would always turn around and say goodbye to me before putting your school bag on the table, running towards the front to sit with the class, and participating in the songs. It can be quite challenging to always be on time or early for school but when you do, it's great that you can participate in the good morning greetings & sing all the songs and listen to the story.
